About

Shengxi SHI is an art enthusiast born in China. She discovered her intense interest in art and philosophy at the age of six and has always been committed to learning and delving deeper into art. During her university years, she studied product design at Tianjin University of Commerce in China and later completed her master’s degree in product design at De Montfort University in the UK. Through her research in the design field, she gained some insights into fashion jewelry design.

She aspires to incorporate the energy of healing art into jewelry design. As a patient suffering from bipolar disorder, she has made many efforts on her journey of self-help until she found that when she focused on painting, designing, and jewelry making, she could eliminate all her worries and distractions and concentrate fully. During this process, she healed herself and found her direction. She hopes to help those who have had similar experiences to find their passion and purpose. She believes that if we are troubled by emotions, it is better to try to take the initiative and utilize our sensitivity in areas that require high sensitivity. The sense of achievement and happiness gained from this will be the best cure for ourselves.

In her works, she often explores contradictions and conflicts, which are the most common struggles for those with bipolar disorder. She attempts to use seemingly contradictory elements to explore their relationships, and the symbiotic relationship beyond the contradictions is her focus. She is passionate about using human emotions and natural elements in her design creations. This stems from her understanding of “interaction”. She firmly believes that a good work can evoke emotional resonance, whether through a specific physical sensation or an abstract thought exchange. A work can burst with powerful energy in an instant when seen by the audience, and possess completely different vitality and meanings in the eyes of different people.
