Annabelle Hall
About
Annabelle is an Artist and Ceramicist, from Gloucestershire, UK. Annabelle’s research at the RCA has examined how humanity shapes and is shaped by its wider environment. Her practice investigates themes of transference, abstraction and imprint; exploring the interface where the body ends and the outer world begins. Abstracting the human body, Annabelle draws on references of natural and cultivated landforms, to create fluid and visceral bodily landscapes. Using light as material, her work illuminates the liminal spaces between bodies in space.
Coming to the RCA from a career in Public and Environmental Health, community engagement is fundamental to Annabelle’s practice; informing her exploration of the relationship between humanity and clay. During her time at the RCA, she has had the opportunity to deliver workshops at London Craft Week and Brighton University.
Annabelle’s period of study at the RCA has been supported by the Märit Rausing Scholarship in Ceramics and Glass.
