Chanon Sringkaranan

Visual Communication (MA)

About

Chanon Sringkaranan is a Thai visual designer and filmmaker based in London. His multidisciplinary practice spans film, screen-based media, and visual communication, with a focus on how narrative, material, and memory can be used to create spaces for reflection, connection, and meaning. He works across direction, design, and storytelling, often weaving together personal observation with broader cultural themes.

Skilled in both concept development and hands-on making, Chanon’s approach bridges thoughtful research with an intuitive use of image, sound, and spatial design. He is particularly interested in how visual experiences whether moving image, installation, or printed matter can evoke a sense of belonging, especially within transitional or fragmented environments. His background in production design and directing informs a strong attention to detail and atmosphere, while his design work reflects a tactile sensibility and emotional clarity.

His recent project, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, developed as part of his MA in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art, is a participatory installation that invites people to reconnect with their sense of ‘home’ through memory-based storytelling and material exploration. The work combines object-making, writing prompts, and spatial curation to guide participants through quiet acts of recollection. Rooted in Chanon’s own experience of displacement, the project explores how personal and collective memory can be accessed through sensory design.

Chanon’s practice continues to evolve through research, collaboration, and socially engaged work. Whether directing on set, designing screen-based visuals, or crafting interactive experiences, he is drawn to projects that foster resonance between people, place, and time developing a language of design that is intimate, honest, and human.
