About

Artist Yuna Yu (b.1997) was born in Sichuan, China, currently working and living in London and Beijing.

Yuna’s practice focuses on exploring self-mythology and melancholy narratives within a contemporary framework. In her early work, she investigated individual psychological experiences, often involving themes such as blurred violence, provocative and intimate relationships, nostalgic memories, and the cycle of self-destruction and reconstruction.

Over time, her practice expanded to engage with broader historical and social contexts. In her recent series Summer Decay, she examines the collective experience of human civilization—its relationship to mythology, decay, time, and death.

Yuna holds a bachelor degree of Fine Art from Central Saint Martins (2020). Her works are wildly exhibited in China and the UK.
