Din Brandt

Graduate Diploma 24/25

About

Din Brandt is a British visual artist of mixed Asian and European heritage, originally from Coventry. She holds a First-Class Honours BA in Product and Industrial Design from Central Saint Martins (UAL) and graduated with Distinction from the Royal College of Art’s Graduate Diploma programme.

Her practice explores the intersection of playfulness and critical engagement, using aesthetics that invite curiosity while prompting deeper reflection. She employs ‘The Cute’ as an accessible yet subversive tool, creating open-ended spaces where meaning is flexible and shaped by personal interpretation. Through carefully composed, juxtaposing imagery, she encourages viewers to engage with layered narratives hidden beneath a seemingly playful surface.

Nostalgia is central to Din’s visual language. Drawing on personal and collective memory, she references familiar childhood imagery to create emotional entry points for the audience. Beneath this sense of comfort, she weaves irony and wit, gently challenging expectations and encouraging critical thought.

At its core, her work is about creating feelings, through meaning, memory, and materials.
