Moukthika Pinnamreddy
About
Moukthika is a fashion and textiles practitioner with a practice centred around adaptive-interactive textile research. Her work explores in-between spaces where identity of a material is fluid, and familiarity acquires new meaning through reinterpretation. She translates this notion of fluidity into the practical concepts of adaptability and modularity. She aims to create a space for the user to develop a connection with the materials as a pathway to sustainability through emotional longevity. Through her work, she explores the shifting boundaries of material, form, and perception, driven by a belief that objects are not fixed entities, but evolve through interaction, context, and the lens of human perception, challenging the notion of a fixed “final product.”
She works with natural materials and organic dyes, and experiments with fabric manipulation techniques and textural collages to create emotionally resonant material experiences that embrace ambiguity within a non-linear design process. Her process is meticulous and intuitive, deeply rooted in functionality and texture. Moukthika believes that textiles are not simply visual or tactile objects; they are immersive, transformative agents capable of shaping perception, provoking emotion, and forging enduring connections between the user and the product.
