Jennifer Brown

Interior Design (MA)

About

Jennifer’s creative background is in Interior Architecture, which she studied at undergraduate level in her hometown of Munich before joining the MA Interior Design programme at the Royal College of Art in September 2024.

One of her main motivations for becoming a designer is to create spaces that can positively impact people’s lives.

Jennifer is not only passionate about interior design, but she also has a strong interest in graphic design. She believes that it is important to take an integral view of design, allowing various disciplines and designers to inform one another throughout the process.

Her MA thesis project “THE FO|ND” – a social hub centred on food, wellbeing and community – explores a spatial, visual and emotional narrative of connection.

Jennifer’s vision was to create an environment that fosters emotional connection by bringing people together through food, as her research on social eating led her to discover the importance it holds for our mental health and wellbeing.

A core image representing the concept of Jennifer’s project is that of a long table. She translated this idea into a three-dimensional structure that runs through the existing building, connecting structural elements and paths which lead to and highlight spaces, as well as furniture pieces designed to bring people together. In addition to using colour to guide visitors/guests through the space, the choice of materials also plays a significant role in enhancing individual elements.
