Yijing Chen
About
My name is Yijing Chen, and I am an interior designer. During my time at the Royal College of Art, I developed strong skills in independent thinking and effective collaboration. In practice, I consistently apply critical thinking, continuously reflecting on and improving my design work. I believe that spatial design is more than a rational construction process,it is a deep engagement with human perception.
My project reimagines 15 Westferry Circus in Canary Wharf, London, as a new game studio for Rockstar Games, exploring the potential of future flexible and hybrid working modes. The design establishes a spatial system that is both adaptable and theatrically expressive. Building on the site’s original 9x9mstructural grid, the proposal introduces a finer 3x3m modular framework to define spatial rhythm and organise functional zones. This modular logic supports flexible layouts and fluid circulation. The goal is to craft a workplace that not only inspires innovation and collaboration, but also embodies the dynamic spirit and distinctive energy of gaming culture.
