About

Anoushka Khandwala (b. 1996) is an artist and writer, practicing in painting, printmaking and publishing.

Her work as an artist is concerned with memory, movement and the third spaces carved out by people occupying the margins.  It asks questions of how we exist in between cultures, communities, identities, places. She seeks to index the body, rather than use it simply as a method of representation.

She uses her practice as a writer to make space for marginalised artists, unearth hidden art histories, and catalyse conversations that drive criticism forward.

Anoushka has written for Elephant, Creative Review, AIGA Eye on Design and others, while teaching at Central Saint Martins in a role that challenges the canon of communication design. She has spoken internationally about her work and that of others. After living in different places around the UK, she is proud to call London her home of the last ten years.
