About
Jaime is a British artist residing and working in London.
He graduated from City & Guilds Art School, London, having studied a BA honours in Painting.
Subsequently he practiced from the V22 studios in Bermondsey and Hackney Wick.
Jaime has created and participated in numerous group shows throughout London.
Art, for Jaime, is a space for inquiry, thought and contemplation.
He draws on philosophy, metaphysics and romanticism, using these themes as rich & varied sources to inform his creative process.
Inspired by painting from Albert Oehlen, Anselm Kiefer and Cy Twombly. The authors he finds intriguing are Haruki Murakami, Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs. Music be that Jazz, hip hop, experimental music, He loves photography from, Todd Hido, Bill Henson, Daido Moryama. He adores films from Jim Jarmusch, Andrei Tarkovsky, Leos Carax Plus David Lynch. Jaime likes to explore themes of existence, hedonistic ideas, new ways of perceiving reality plus giving new meanings to existence.
Heavily engaged with reading about politics, climate change, AI, from such diverse thinkers, as David Harvey, Danny Dorling, David Graeber and Kim Stanley Robinson, Max Tegmark plus George Monbiot. He is also inspired by theatre, which are all central themes to his practice, guiding him to explore the fundamental aspects that gives life greater meaning & importance.

His work seeks ritual, contemplation, and a greater understanding of our shared humanity.
