Meg Griffiths
About
- Meg Griffiths is an artist from Lands End, Cornwall.
Through her painting she teleports between the world inside her head, The Fractal Forest, and this reality.
She believes in the necessity of play. The importance of awakening the child within us all.
Her process is one of awakening that child and rediscovering that pure playfulness we disregard in adult life. The Fractal Forest is a world where her inner child can run free.
Her practice is an obsessive and curious form of questioning the fractal geometry of the patterns she witnesses all around her. She finds comfort in patterns as they help her understand her own grief, the geometry of grief, and how to look forward into the future after losing someone so incredibly important to her.
Her work explores these patterns in a physical way in the form of her leaf paint experimentations as well as theoretical research engaging with topics such as the fractal inflation of the universe, fractal fluency theory and rhizome theory.
