Nik Simon (b. 2002) is a Ukrainian-Czech photographer currently based in London. Primarily working with landscape photography, Nik explores the emotional atmosphere of spaces and how certain environments can feel heavy with memory or a quiet sense of absence. The work focuses on urban landscapes and everyday surroundings, with particular attention to subtle, often overlooked details. Surface textures, defined edges, and shifting light and shadow become central elements.
Nik’s work leans more toward abstraction, using light and shadow to shape mood and tension rather than clarity. Employing a minimal and considered visual language, the work invites slow engagement and emotional introspection. The result is a body of work that doesn’t aim to explain, but to quietly observe, revealing the atmosphere of the ordinary and the weight it can carry.
