About

Pinhan Li

Pinhan Li is a photographer and visual artist from China. In his art works, he seeks a sense of “distant similarity”, an emotional resonance that transcends time, space, and different forms of life. Through his art, he hopes to inspire people to reconnect with the subtle moments of growth and life, rediscovering the forgotten awe and impulses hidden within. He is captivated by the threshold space between the visible world and the dimension of emotions, focusing on the fractures where consciousness and the physical world meet. This approach reflects not only his artistic vision but also his engagement with both social and personal issues. Ultimately, these pursuits all converge toward a single purpose: guiding people toward the experience of happiness in the present moment.

Hold Me Tight Before the Alarm Rings

Hold Me Tight Before the Alarm Rings is a three-channel video installation generated through AI-animated stills, unfolding across a fragmented metro dreamscape. The work explores how photographic perspectives—first-person, surveillance, and symbolic macro views—can be simulated, displaced, and recombined in the absence of a physical camera. By constructing moving images from synthetic photographs, the project reflects on photography not as a tool for capturing the real, but as a mechanism for remembering, hallucinating, and reassembling emotional experience.
