'synaptic._null' at Outernet POP ONE — In the contemporary digital and post-human era, the boundaries between reality, simulation, and cognition are increasingly fluid. Our perception of reality is not absolute but a dimensional reduction of an imperceptible hyperobject, forcibly projected into a three-dimensional framework. This project evolves from my previous exploration of wind, ecology, and hyperobjects, tracing how all things are interconnected beyond human perception. Continuing this research into cognition and perception, this project interrogates the collapse and incineration of simulacra, questioning the reliability of cognitive models and the possibility of higher-dimensional awareness.

Hongyin Wang is a winner of the A’Design Award and a new media artist specializing in the field of interaction design. He is particularly interested in spatial interaction, art installations, and music visual interaction.

During the RCA period, the works covered visual interaction design, human-computer interaction design and music visualization design. The representative works during this period included ‘Debris’- interactive design for popularizing ecological knowledge, and ‘Satirical Journey – To the Netherworld’- interactive design for modern social issues. ‘synaptic._null’- Music visualization performance.

Director of Xiamen AmoyNiy New Media Art Studio, China. The main research focuses on generative visual art and interactive installations in new media art. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Technology from Xi ‘an Academy of Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Digital Direction from the Royal College of Art.
