Ventcislava Nekova

Digital Direction (MA)

About

Ventcislava Nekova is an artist, movement director working at the intersection of dance, immersive technology, and digital storytelling. At the Royal College of Art, her artistic practice investigated how bodies are shaped by systems of control and explored the role of choreographic language in exposing invisible structures of power within digital and physical space.

Her work spans film, installation, and performance, often incorporating interactive visuals and sonic environments. She directed Echoes of Connection, an immersive film exhibited at Shoreditch Arts Centre, and has contributed movement direction for theatre, music videos, and live performance projects. Her latest project, Cycles, developed with choreographer Emma Poyer, explores the dining table as a site of patriarchal control and has been shown at Frameless Gallery.

Ventcislava is a mentee in the Women@Dior & UNESCO Global Leadership Programme, where she is exploring how her creative practice can contribute to promoting gender equity, creative leadership, and social responsibility. This opportunity has deepened her commitment to using art as a tool for dialogue and transformation, particularly through cross-disciplinary collaboration.
