Ziqiao Yi
About
Ziqiao Yi is a 3D artist with a background in industrial design. Most of her works are based on digital modelling to create figurative and gorgeous virtual digital worlds, as well as her adeptness in using a variety of different materials and textures, showing her dedication to digital media.
During her studies at the Royal College of Art, she focused on topics such as climate change, the solar crisis, human/non-human symbiosis, and the stigmatisation of fungi, which are closely related to her own practice. She tries to combine sensibility and rationality, basing her beautiful stories on rigorous logic. So she no longer only pursues high technology and beautiful visuals, but also learnt how to narrate with a critical perspective.
For her, digital artists are important groups who draw the attention of all human beings to an important event, and she always hopes to bring more urgent global issues to the audience’s view, and use immersive images, VR technology, panoramic interaction and installation to allow more human beings to participate in the creation of art.
