Giulia Dusault
About
Hi, I’m Giulia, I am an interdisciplinary designer and a current MA Information Experience Design student at the Royal College of Art (RCA). My work moves between publication design, photography, identity, and moving image. Often rooted in questions around cultural memory, human relationships, and overlooked histories. My practice is deeply rooted in my upbringing. Originally from the Netherlands but born in Italy, I have spent my life living abroad in Italy, the Netherlands, China, Switzerland, and now the United Kingdom. Being exposed to diverse cultures and lifestyles has fueled my passion for creating design-based work that celebrates culture, identity, and human experiences. The project that i’m showcasing is called The Living and Submerged Archive which is a two-part exploration of the River Thames as a layered, living archive. The Living Archive, a short documentary featuring mudlarker Anna Borzello, traces found objects and personal stories, revealing themes of memory, loss, and preservation. The Submerged Archive, a companion book, imagines the river’s voice through writing, photography, and design. Together, they explore how water holds, erases, and reshapes time. Uncovering some stories while others remain hidden.
