Nadia Wooten

Information Experience Design (MA)

About

Nadia Wooten is a researcher and interdisciplinary artist whose practice bridges art, science, and social inquiry. With a background in psychology and visual communication from the University of Florida and a Master’s in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art, her work explores how identity, memory, and systemic structures are shaped by both human and more-than-human worlds.

Influenced by the cultural landscape of her hometown, Houston, Texas, Wooten draws on the slowed and screwed ethos as a methodology of remix, resistance, and reflection. Her projects often engage ecological intelligence—such as the relational dynamics of mycelium, water, and plant life—not just as metaphors, but as living systems that inform new ways of being, healing, and relating.

Wooten’s work is rooted in collaboration and grounded in an ethics of interdependence. Through material-based installations, photomontage, video, and storytelling, she examines power, interspecies entanglements, and neo-colonial legacies. She has contributed to applied research initiatives, community health collaborations, and public engagement projects across disciplines. Her practice continues to evolve as a tool for coalition-building, critical inquiry, and imagining regenerative futures.
