YUMIN ZHANG
Artist & Researcher | Currently based in London
Yumin Zhang is a London-based artist and researcher. She graduated from the UAL _(BA) Costume design and will complete an MA in Information Experience Design at the RCA in 2025. Then, she continues her journey into the landscape of code and algorithms through further studies in Creative Computing.
Her practice lies at the intersection of speculative writing, handcrafted costume and object-making, and immersive, multisensory installation. Drawing from her background in stage design and narrative construction, Yumin’s work explores the fractures in our digital futures — where quiet lives exist within systems that render them both visible and illegible.
A fully digitised future is no longer distant — it seeps quietly into the present. Within this unfolding historical process, this project aims to offer not solutions, but a moment of pause—a subtle prompt to reflect on the futures we are shaping.
It does not prescribe answers. Instead, it invites observation. In the silent blue, we are asked to confront the architectures of our current condition — and the systems we may yet become.
