About

DAISYTOPIA imagines a future shaped by climate change, where even daisies have gone extinct. One day, the last daisy is discovered, becoming a fragile symbol of hope and memory. I explore how people care for and protect it through a fictional Department of Daisy, an institution that reflects new values and emotional connections to nature. This alternative scenario opens a space to reflect on the present, rethink our relationship with nature, and imagine the kind of future we truly want.

Zhuozhuo is an interdisciplinary artist who specializes in using film, narrative, sound, installation, and product design (with skills gained from my undergraduate studies) as primary mediums of communication and expression.

My interdisciplinary practice stems from a deep concern for the natural world, as well as a continuous awareness of my own position as an “other.” I approach the world from peripheral and marginal perspectives, focusing on stories and elements that dominant narratives often overlook or silence.

This has led me to explore nature, feminism, animals, and the fragile, hidden connections that shape our shared existence. Storytelling is at the core of my practice, not just as a creative tool, but as a living medium that carries emotion, memory, and collective resonance. Through projects that reimagine future narratives and geopolitical landscapes, from the flight of (Previously studied projects) seagulls to the quiet persistence of springs, daisies, and women’s voices, I seek to bring these alternative perspectives into the public realm, inviting reflection and new ways of seeing.

—I love nature, I love storytelling, and I am even more eager to listen to every voice.
