About

Hello! I’m Zilin, a designer with a background in fashion and a current focus on experience design for emotional well-being. My work explores how storytelling, interaction, and care can be woven into educational and social systems.

At the RCA, my final project, Campus Mindscape, imagines a new approach to supporting student mental well-being in Chinese universities. It aims to foster a connected and caring campus culture, enabling students to feel more, cope better, and thrive together. I’ve developed two practical, easy-to-use toolkits—ConvoLoop and EmotiPack—designed to help students and educators build emotional awareness, trust, and resilience. Through workshop-based design, inclusive visuals, and human-centred strategies, I invite users into reflective and meaningful experiences.

I approach design as a gentle process of listening, framing, and thoughtful intervention—often beginning with personal reflection, then expanding through workshops, writing, and visual storytelling.

I believe design can make emotional needs visible and transform care into something tangible—something we can hold, share, and carry with us. While currently focused on young people, I hope to continue creating accessible and culturally sensitive experiences for anyone navigating their inner worlds.
