Rama Srinija Kambhampati
About
Hi! I’m Srinija Kambhampati, a service designer turning systems thinking, user insight, and intuitive design into products and services. I design at the intersection of people, purpose, and progress.
I’m endlessly curious about everything design related; and experimentation and exploration are my go-to approaches for innovation. I’ve worked in the retail industry and in startups, where I’ve witnessed firsthand how powerful design can be, especially in organisational design and strategy, process optimisation, user experience, and service innovation.
During my time at the Royal College of Art, I’ve worked on projects across various sectors, each project helping me explore how design can drive emotional, social, and systemic change. Some key projects I’ve worked on include:
- Financial empowerment for Generation Z: My Independent Research Project at the RCA, explores the complex relationship young people have with money, inter-generational dynamics, how currency is becoming increasingly digital and how our financial decisions are shaped by our environments, especially in the current economy. This led to a multi format content delivery platform/ services designed to create healthy, mindful financial habits using emotionally intelligent design.
- Justice system reform with the UK Ministry of Justice: A foresight-driven public sector project imagining the future of prison and probation systems for 2040 through scenario-building, foresight strategy, speculative service models, and systems mapping.
- Digital wellbeing toolkit for children: A research-led project addressing perfectionism, self-comparison, and emotional development among young learners, in the digital era. We designed a toolkit to help kids develop awareness around mobile usage.
- Social housing in Brent, London: A research-led project addressing the lived experiences of tenants in social housing, with an intervention focusing on transparency, dignity, and inclusion in public housing services.
My strengths lie in synthesising qualitative research into clear design strategies, using tools like Journey Mapping, Service Blueprinting, and insight frameworks such as Theory of Change. I’ve led end-to-end service design, from scoping and user research to prototyping, testing, and final implementation, while closely engaging with clients to align goals and drive collaborative decision-making. Much of my work is grounded in understanding human behaviour to create interconnected experiences that require a holistic, human-centred insight.
Design is more than a tool, it is a responsibility to challenge assumptions, respond with care, and co-create change; a mindset and practice that serves both people and the world at large.
