Jiayin Li
About
Jiayin Li is a textile artist from Beijing, China.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Textile Design from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and studied as an exchange student at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London during her third year.
Her practice explores themes of memory, migration, and identity, often drawing from personal experiences and childhood objects. Working across knitting and embroidery, she merges soft textile structures with hard materials, such as metal and ceramic, to express the tension between lived emotions and broader social transformation. Through processes of reconstruction and material translation, Jiayin reflects on the irreversible nature of time and the traces it leaves behind.
