Jing Pu is a textile and CMF designer, as well as a knitter. She focuses on how materials and textiles can positively influence human emotions and the environment.
To explore the potential of a single material, various forms and textures of bamboo were tested. Bamboo blocks and bamboo yarns were examined to understand how they could interact and complement each other.

Tranquility in Touch
During the experiment, bamboo blocks in different shapes and bamboo yarns in various colors were tested to find the optimal combination. All materials were dyed using natural dyes, and the entire process was sustainable and eco-friendly.

How Can Bamboo Be Transformed?
Inspired by traditional Chinese bamboo weaving techniques, bamboo strips were used to explore structural possibilities. Some of the strips were replaced with bamboo yarns, which were then hand-stitched into the basic woven structure. This approach provided opportunities to design specific patterns and combine different textures.

Drawing from the inherent structure of bamboo, the flat knitting samples made from bamboo extracted rectangular and vertical patterns, which were then transformed into more simplified images through knitting techniques using 100% bamboo yarns.
