About
Rooted in human-focused design, I am a CMF (Colour, Material, Finish) and woven textiles designer, working at the intersection of textile design, interior architecture, and sensory-emotional experience. My work explores how woven surfaces can invite connection, comfort, and reflection, using colour, tactility, and material memory as tools for emotional storytelling.
Born and raised in rural Kent within a Persian household, my creative identity is shaped by the softness of natural landscapes and the warmth of domestic rituals. In contrast, the dense geometries of brutalist London now form the backdrop to my everyday life. This duality, between rural stillness and urban structure, drives my material exploration. I translate these sensory tensions into padded, woven forms that hold emotion and space simultaneously.
Driven by a desire to counteract industrial coldness and digital overstimulation, I develop soft, breathable, and structurally supportive materials that reconnect people to their senses. Through handwoven double cloth techniques and integrated natural padding, I replace synthetic foams with wool-based solutions, primarily using British wool waste to challenge traditional material hierarchies and propose sustainable alternatives.
My practice balances craft with innovation, merging material sensitivity with strategic design thinking. Informed by trend forecasting, interior applications, and brand direction, I construct CMF narratives where softness becomes both a physical and emotional foundation for spatial wellbeing. My project “The Architect of Where Softness Holds Us” is ultimately a quiet invitation to slow down, to feel, and to be held by the spaces we inhabit.
