Sindhuja Mishra

Textiles (MA)

About

Sindhuja Mishra is a textile designer and multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in the exploration of colour, material, and space. With an academic background in political science during her undergraduate studies, her journey into textile design has been a meaningful transition. Her work is informed by thoughtful research and a deep engagement with making.

She is particularly interested in how colour, texture, and fibre interact to create expressive and intentional surfaces. Her work investigates how natural materials and surface processes can translate into meaningful, functional, and visually refined outcomes across textile, interior, and product design. Sindhuja’s work ranges from handcrafted textiles to concept-driven colour and material research. She is deeply fascinated by the unpredictable nature of natural colours and how they can metamorphose fabric into textured, multi-dimensional, and evocative surface.

Her recent work explores how pigment, fibre, and process can engage with ideas of time, place, and cultural memory. Through her evolving process, She aims to continue developing a practice that integrates sustainability with purposeful design.
