Yeri Cho
About
Yeri Cho is a CMF (Colour, Material, Finish) designer based between London and Seoul. She works at the intersection of material innovation, sustainability, and sensorial design. Her practice explores how colour, texture, and surface can communicate narratives of time, transformation, and environmental responsibility.
With a background in the automotive industry, she brings a research-led and forward-thinking approach to material development. Yeri is particularly focused on integrating bioplastics, natural dyes, and recycled resources into CMF strategies that are both emotionally resonant and environmentally conscious.
‘Sustainability is central to my design approach. I focus on researching and applying eco-conscious materials—such as bioplastics, plant-based ingredients, and recycled resources—to reduce environmental impact without compromising on design quality. My work emphasizes how materials behave, change, and perform over time. I’m especially interested in how texture, surface, and colour can influence user experience and communicate values like responsibility and care. Understanding the lifecycle and transformation of materials allows me to develop CMF strategies that are both innovative and practical. My goal is to contribute to a more responsible design culture, where material choices are intentional, informed, and future-focused.’
